Mission: Kyoru a pairing paradox--a case study. Ok so why a Gureru (Shigure x Tooru *shameless fangirlish squeal) fangirl would bother doing a site to this pairing? *still thinking on that one* Well aside from Rose's twirling stick of destruction...I find that this pairing has the least appreciation in the english-speaking fandom. Well atleast that's the impression i've gotten and so i ask myself why? Arguably Kyo is the most popular male figure in furuba and Tooru is the most popular female in furuba so why can't fanfic writers get this pairing right damn it? I mean how many crappy fics do one has to read to find a good kyoru fic? -_-; seriously. Aside from that there aren't many kyo/tooru fics in english but there are a lot of yukiru and good yukiru fics btw (yeah so bite me i like yukiru :P) Oh and don't get me started on the kyo/yuki fics but I will only mention it in passing as this is a KYO x TOHRU site. Anyways, I think this is the first english site that is dedicated to kyoru pairing as opposed to kyo or tooru fansites.
Kyoru fanfic cliches vs. Yukiru fanfic cliche vs Kyo/Yuki cliche: If i see one more fic that pairs them up because tooru realize that yuki's just a brother figure or yuki finally by some stroke of luck decides that tooru just a sis I'll scream! The same go for the other two pairings. Many Yukiru fics tend to pair Kyo with Kagura just because it's convenient (mind you i do like that pairing but come on be a bit more creative :P) Kyo/Yuki pairings make my head hurt and if nothing else they are mildly amusing on how 'creative' they get with getting rid of tooru to pair the two boys up. let see the top 5 ways to get rid of tooru and pair mouse and cat *drum roll* 1) the easiest kill tooru 2) tooru decide she has to go off to some far off boarding college 3) tooru falls for another sohma bishie and since the fangirls have to get creative *lets pair her off with akito* 4) tooru who? well the ya0i syndrome where the females just don't exist 5) pair tooru with one of her female friends. *snorts*

Revolution? Changes to come? dunno but the kyoru front seems promising with crazy but creative fangirls like Rose, Nicki, Roja and the rest of the scary fangirls from Kyoru romance ML :P (Huggles) What I'm looking for in kyoru fic? well like any good fic: the standard good grammar, creativity, enjoyment factor and something that doesn't seem forced and less of the cookie-cutter kyo and tooru i see so often. I think it's mostly because many fans aren't familiar witht the manga that goes more into the character development and tend to rely heavily on the anime persona of these two. Mind you it's hard to make this pairing work because there's always the rat in the middle but why is it that yukiru fics work so well? are the writers just that much better? I don't think so...I've read a handfull of good kyoru fics so there's obviously talent there just need more!
